Welcome to EarthFX

Welcome to Earthfx

Founded in 1997, Earthfx is a leading provider of advanced software and consulting services for integrated surface water/groundwater modelling, environmental data management, geologic and geophysical data analysis.

Consulting Services and Modelling: Earthfx is a world leader in the emerging field of integrated surface water/groundwater modelling.   We have constructed numerous models using the USGS GSFLOW model, the leading open source integrated model. Project applications include Source Water Protection water budgeting, quarry and mine impact assessment, oilsand cumulative effects analysis, water supply, eco-hydrology and drought analysis.

Software and Data Hosting: Our software products and data hosting services have been used to streamline and manage information and reporting for municipal water supply, power generation, contaminated sites, water management and conservation authorities.

Integration and Customization: Our seamless integration of consulting services and software development allows us to provide advanced solutions customized to meet our client’s specific needs.  Our exceptional library of code (the foundation of our commercial products) is continually evolving and expanding through both advanced consulting projects and long term strategic development.  Our blend of consulting, software development and project data hosting is unique, and ensures that our products and services are both industry leading and extensively tested in-house prior to release.

Data-driven Approach and Data Model: Earthfx was founded on the principle that structured data management is the foundation needed for all advanced analysis and engineering solutions.  All of our products and services are based on relational database technology and our proven open source Earthfx Data Model.   This long term view and recognition that data drives all decision making only becomes more relevant as technology evolves.  Our entire workflow revolves around centralized database servers that guarantee unmatched efficiency and integration.

What's New at EarthFX

Recent work published in the Canadian Water Resources Journal   Tuesday, October 06, 2015

Recent work completed by Earthfx has been published in the Canadian Water Resources Journal.  The paper titled A methodology for identifying ecologically significant groundwater recharge areas describes a method to link sensitive features like cold water streams and wetlands to areas of infiltration with numerical models.  The paper presents a case study - one of a series of integrated modelling studies recently completed for the Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority.  The full paper is available here, for more information on ESGRAs or our state-of-the-art modelling services, please contact E.J. Wexler, Director of Modelling Services.

Visit us at the Waterloo IAH Conference   Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Earthfx will be attending the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) Canadian National Chapter Conference on Oct. 27-30, 2015.  We will be presenting three technical papers covering topics including climate change, drought, integrated model calibration strategies and simulation of land use change in Florida.  Stop by and visit our booth!
