Tunneling and Subway Assessment
Earthfx Inc. has done work in the tunneling and subway assessment which is because of our expertise in creating advanced computer models of watersheds. It includes working to provide assessments on future sewer or subway tunnels for example. This is a field that our company is looking to expand due to our growing expertise and better understanding of what is needed. See some of the projects we have done below.
Southeast Collector Sewer Environmental Assessments
Earthfx developed a 3-dimensional groundwater flow model to analyze the impacts of construction dewatering for the Southeast Collector (SEC) Trunk Sewer on groundwater and stream baseflow. The work was done in support of the Hydrogeological/Geotechnical Southeast Collector Trunk Sewer Environmental Assessment. This study followed an earlier modelling analysis for route selection, also completed by Earthfx.
Climate Change Factor of Safety Assessment, Eglinton Crosstown Subway
The Eglinton Crosstown Subway is a $7B subway project spanning a 22 km route through central Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The central portion of the route is being constructed using earth pressure balance tunnelling technology while the subway stations are constructed with large scale temporary dewatering.
